Qld: Beattie talks up jobs figures

Queensland Premier PETER BEATTIE has welcomed the fall in the state's jobless rate.

The Bureau of Stats reports Queensland's unemployment rate has fallen to 4.5 per cent
.. the second lowest after WA.

Mr BEATTIE .. who'll be campaigning in Sydney tomorrow to attract skilled workers to
Queensland .. says the figures show his state has over 36 thousand job vacancies .. accounting
for 24 per cent of all vacancies in Australia.

Meanwhile .. NSW Premier MORRIS IEMMA is in Brisbane today .. trying to attract finance
professionals to Sydney.
