Qld: Beattie to travel to Africa for athletics bid

Queensland Premier PETER BEATTIE is heading to Africa to make a bid for Brisbane to
host the IAAF World Championships in Athletics in 2011.

Mr BEATTIE says an evaluation team from the International Association of Athletics
Federation is in Brisbane assessing the city's infrastructure and athletics centres as
part of the bid.
